HIV STD Disease Intervention Specialist

**Job Summary and Responsibilities**

The HIV/STD Disease Intervention Specialist will report to the CARE Center Clinical Services Manager, and work closely with the City of Long Beach HIV/STD Surveillance Program. This position will conduct HIV/STD disease investigations and provide partner services for individuals newly infected with chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV. This position will be based in the CARE Medical Clinic, and will support CARE Center clinicians and St. Mary Emergency Department clinicians. This position will team with CARE HIV-STD testing, Biomedical Prevention and Linkage/Retention staff.

+ Provides HIV and STD case investigation, partner counseling and referral services to individuals infected with HIV and other STDs.
+ Conducts field investigations to locate and contact those with HIV/STD infections or potential infections.
