Summary The Architect of the Capitol, Senate Office Buildings, Maintenance Branch is seeking an Insulator Pipe Coverer who serves as a journey-level Insulator responsible for the installation, demolition, maintenance and repair of insulating materials on piping, HVAC and equipment systems throughout the Architect of the Capitol campus. Responsibilities Tour of duty for this position is: Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Work schedule may require some occasionally mandatory overtime on holidays AND weekends. Duties: Installs insulating materials on ducts, pumps, valves and boilers to limit heat transference, reduce condensation and limit sound. Measures, cuts, mixes and shapes insulating materials for complex arcs and irregular shapes and installs protective, moisture-proof- containment barriers for hazardous materials removal involving lead paint, asbestos and abatement.
