Intern - Polysomnographic Technologist - Sleep Center

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies, and procedures and under the general supervision of the medical director/physician, the Polysomnographic Technologist intern will commit to the prescribed training protocol for the internship and upon completion, register and take the BRPT examination within the prescribed timeframes. The intern will be provided appropriate clinical hours to evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. Responsibilities include colleting, analyzing and integration patient information in order to meet the patient-specific needs; determining final testing parameters in conjunction with the physician and established protocols; reviewing the patient’s history and verifying the medical order(s); and providing age appropriate patient education.
