The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) is seeking an Executive Director (ED) to lead the organisation into its new strategic cycle.

This is a rare opportunity to shape continental and global policy at a pivotal moment for Africa and the world – marked by shifting global power, rising armed conflicts, climate stress and complex political transitions.

At the helm of the ISS, the ED will steer a highly respected and trusted pan‑African organisation, ensuring that cutting‑edge research translates into policy advice, technical support and training that improve human security in Africa.
