Job Summary
Assistant Shift Engineer - Third Class with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) joins the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Operate, repair and maintain a high pressure (600psig+) high temperature (750 °F superheat) primary combined cycle, parallel co‑generation thermal power plant with 2890 boiler horsepower, managing boilers, feed water pumps, turbines, power distribution centres and related auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act and Regulations.
- Operate the following equipment: 600 psig boilers; 150 psig boilers; 1 MW 4160 V turbo‑generators; 1000 psig feed water pumps; 225 KW and 500 KW diesel generators; 440 V, 4160 V and 12800 V transformers and switchgear; 1600 KW stand‑by generators.
