Work Scope of Assistant Teacher
An Assistant Teacher needs to:
Join the centre staff in receiving and sending off children during receiving and pickup time (supervised by trained staff) but should not be allowed to communicate directly with parentsAssist in the execution of routine care duties e.g. feeding/meal time, diapering/toileting, bathing/washing, sleeping/nappingAssist in the preparation of learning activities, teaching aids and learning cornersAssist in cleaning/disinfecting of resources/toysAssist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activity plans for the class assigned. May be allowed to carry out the activity plans with the supervision of mentor teacherAssist in documenting observation of children or activities while carrying out activities with childrenUpkeep professionalism during course of work by:a)Maintaining strict confidentiality about the children
