JOB SUMMARY

• Under the supervision, guidance and approval of Consultant Staff: monitor and provide care to patients at CCAD within the Cardiac Surgery specialty.
• Prescribe or administer medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
• Analyze records, reports and test results to diagnose patient’s medical condition.
• Interact with patient to gather additional history and information about medical condition.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patient.
• Provide specific treatments and/or perform operations to treat patient medical conditions.
• Evaluate patient and record applicable notes about patient’s condition for the purposes of serving as a record of treatment and/or a possible referral to another member of the health care professional team.
