Opportunity Description
A Primary School in Westerhope is seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant with strong autism experience to join their SEND Classroom. This role is focused on working with a small group of KS1 children with autism and additional needs, providing 1:1 and small group support in a structured, nurturing environment.
You will be working with a team who are known for their friendly, helpful and welcoming manner.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing consistent, calm, and patient support to Year 1 children with autism in the SEND Classroom
Supporting communication through visual aids, structured routines, and tailored strategies
Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver EHCP targets
Helping children regulate emotions, develop independence, and build confidence
Creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where every child feels valued
