**Job Summary and Responsibilities**

Full time days with call

The Surgical First Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician throughout the intra-operative phase, as well as contributing to the delivery of quality patient care by working with other surgical team members during the preoperative and immediate postoperative phases.

+ Provides skilled assistance to the surgeon.
+ Assists with individual operating room setup
+ Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient.
+ Communicates with the surgeon and health care team regarding patient’s condition
+ Other duties as assigned by management.

**Job Requirements**

+ Certified Surgical Assistant or college degree in health related field with five years of first assisting experience
+ National Certification first assistant
