• A dental assistant provides support to dentists and dental hygienists, ensuring efficient patient care and smooth operation of the dental office. Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, and educating patients on oral hygiene. They also manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
• Certification in dental radiography (if required by state regulations)
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Basic computer proficiency for managing patient records
