Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Environmental Health and Safety ( EHS ) professionals analyze work environments to design and implement programs to control, eliminate, and prevent disease, injury, and/or environmental impact caused by chemical, physical, radiological, and biological agents. The Environmental Specialist position focuses on the safety of University property and the surrounding campus environment, as well as the impacts that projects have on local watersheds, ecology, habitats, and environmental areas. In addition, the Environmental Specialist ensures safe work environments are present for all University and contracted employees through routine equipment inspections, jobsite safety assessments, and safety program management.
