Head of Software Engineering - Director Title - REMOTE OK

Our client, a growing Insurance Underwriting firm is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to join the team. This role owns the design, growth, and performance of underwriting technology. This is a hands-on leadership role that reports directly to the COO. The director is responsible for hands-on architecture and continuous optimization of AI enabled underwriting software, data, and workflows. Insurance experience is strongly preferred and deep technical expertise is essential.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in software engineering, system design, and coding/configuration. They are comfortable diving into platforms, workflows, data, code, and integrations, using technology to eliminate friction and unlock growth. The director will operate as a "player coach,” leading a small, high impact team composed of employees and service partners.
