About the role
The Medical Assessment Unit is closely linked to the Emergency Department and other front-line services, so variety is a key element in this busy but rewarding role.
The unit is responsible for streamlining the assessment and admission of non-critically ill medical patients and accommodating and caring for them for up to 24-36 hours. There is ample opportunity to make a difference for patients during what can be a vulnerable and scary experience.
