Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Maintenance Supervisor to lead locomotive and rolling stock maintenance operations within our expanding rail maintenance facility in Altona.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising maintenance activities, ensuring fleet reliability and availability, and supporting operational performance through safe and efficient workshop practices.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent the position includes the following responsibilities: 

• Lead and supervise Maintenance Technicians across rotating shift rosters
• Ensure optimal utilisation of labour and workshop resources to meet maintenance schedules
• Coordinate daily shift handovers and maintain effective team communication
• Foster a positive safety culture and high-performance work environment
• Limit breakdowns / downtime on equipment
