MUST:
The Surgical Medical Assistant must have experience:
3 plus years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a surgical setting
Experience sterilizing instruments (preferred)
BLS certification
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant
Strong communication skills
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
DUTIES:
Working in pre-op and PACU to check patients in and prepare them for procedures
Giving patients discharge instructions; as well as communicating with their families about follow-up care
Sterilizing instruments and prepping trays for surgeries
