Mobile Equipment Superintendent

A. GENERAL FUNCTION

The Mobile Equipment Section Superintendent is responsible for the overall availability, reliability, safety, and cost‑effective operation and maintenance of MMT’s mobile equipment fleet—primarily forklifts and other heavy equipment—to support uninterrupted terminal operations in compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Equipment operations and support
   • Ensure high availability and operational readiness of forklifts and heavy mobile equipment to meet terminal operational requirements.
   • Coordinate with Operations, Yard Planning, and Dispatch to align equipment deployment with operational demand.
   • Provide leadership and technical direction during critical equipment breakdowns affecting terminal productivity.
   • Approve equipment return to service following major repairs, incidents, or overhauls.
