Pathology Assistant

Our client, is a Healthcare company, is looking for a Pathology Assistant for their Carbondale, IL location. Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for assisting with gross descriptions and dissection of surgical tissues; submits specimens for laboratory testing; summarizes patients’ medical history.

+ Performs procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician

+ Provides assistance with the gross description and dissection (examination) of surgical tissues.

+ Submits specimens for histological and other laboratory testing.

+ Summarizes patients’ medical history.

+ Relates and functions effectively with the medical community, lab, and other hospital staff

Requirements:

+ Master’s degree in Health Science or Pathology

+ ASCP Certification

+ Technical Experience: 1 yr in healthcare setting

+ Minimum Years of Experience: 2
