Patient Care Coordinator

A Brief Overview

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for scheduling services; including scheduling/rescheduling patients, new and returning patients. Verifies insurance information and registers the patient. Other office duties include; performing updates in the Epic, and Agility updating patient ques.

What you will do

Greets patients and manages phone calls

Provides information on various department clinical programs to patients during patient scheduling/intake call

Schedules new and returning patient appointments

Creates patient education packets for various clinical programs and outpatients

Manages referral que and generates referrals when appropriate, obtains authorization from insurance and refers patient to the appropriate physician and diagnostic service

Sends communication and referrals to referring physician offices when appropriate
