Pharmacist

A pharmacist is a healthcare professional responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and proper utilization of medications. They work to ensure that patients receive the correct medications, proper dosages, and provide guidance on how to safely use them. Key responsibilities include:

• Dispensing Medications: Accurately prepare and distribute prescribed medications to patients.
• Patient Counseling: Advise patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.

Education

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school. This program generally takes four years after completing undergraduate coursework.

Licensure

• A valid pharmacist license from the state or country where the pharmacist practices, which usually requires passing a national or regional board exam, such as the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) in the U.S.
