Opportunity Description

*Postdoctoral Position in Lung Cancer* A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Maryland School of Medicine. The candidate will study lung cancerbiology and how genotype/phenotype plays a role in therapeutic response to existing chemotherapies as well as novel compounds in development. Our lab focuses on investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) proliferation and development of drug resistance. Specifically, we are interested in overcoming NSCLC resistance to EGFR inhibitors by understanding the molecular basis of resistance. In addition, we seek to evaluate differential drug sensitivities of various subtypes of SCLC. We utilize and develop both murine and human models of lung cancer to test our strategies. Our long-term goal is to develop novel therapeutic strategies that are effective in lung cancer patients. The po...
