Our whakapapa
The Ora Toa Tu Te Wehi Programme (Mental Health Programme), This service was developed by Janette Katene and team in early 2000 when the Mental Health services were devolved to local communities, more importantly this service was to be Kaupapa Māori ensuring that the Māori population of Porirua and Greater Wellington had access to a Māori specific service.
Our Goals:
This programme is designed to support those suffering from primary mental health issues a way forward in their mental health journey. Learning the significance of tikanga, kawa, and how to live within these guidelines using these as a way of coping in an ever-changing world. Ultimately it is being the best that we can be within the environment we currently live in.
