Quantity Surveyor

JOB PURPOSE

Analyzes project plans and documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project scope and requirements.
2. Develop cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting services.
3. Use cost databases, supplier quotations, and historical data to prepare accurate estimates.
4. Evaluate design alternatives and recommend cost-effective solutions.
5. Prepare and update unit rates and maintain a cost library for recurring activities.
6. Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures as per tender documents.
7. Coordinate with procurement, subcontractors and vendors for pricing of materials and services.
8. Participate in bid clarification meetings with clients or consultants.
