- Prepares, administers and documents prescribed medications/treatments as per facility policy and procedure. Performs venipuncture and collects specimens as per policy.
- Encourages and/or facilitates treatment programs that foster skill building, especially the Treatment Mall and Therapeutic Community Meetings.
- Provides health education groups and individual patient/family teaching as needed.
- Completes or assures completion of Daily Assignment Sheet. Provides supervision to subordinate nursing staff to assure safe delivery of nursing care and services to patients.
- Completes the Nursing Assessment according to the policy.
- Anticipates and maintains a safe, therapeutic and secure environment based on acuity. Utilizes crisis intervention techniques according to facility policies and procedures.
