Unit Details
Medically complex, critically ill patients. Respiratory failure of various etiologies requiring noninvasive or mechanical ventilation, post CVL, cardiac arrest with TTM, multisystem organ failure, various shock states, CVA post TPa, COVID, ARDS, DKA, ETOH w/d.
1 CNA per shift to help
We are a high acuity, fast-paced MICU. Some frequently occurring procedures include- Bedside central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, para and thoracentesis, code blue.
The standard ratio is 2:1, however, if we have boarders waiting to transfer to an inpatient unit, that ratio could increase to 4:1 (boarde...
