Patient Age Range: Adults, Geriatrics
Special Procedures/Unit Details: The Shock Trauma PACU is a 12-bay unit with a 24/7 team, providing peri-anesthesia care specializing in traumatic injury management 365 days a year. Vigilant pre and post-operative care is provided to outpatients and inpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery by more than 20 surgical and procedural services. This unique team also supports the mission of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center through their clinical flexibility outside of traditional peri-anesthesia care, including procedural space and patient overflow from the Trauma Resuscitation Unit.
