Research Assistant (Fiber composites materials)

Job Description

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a motivated Research Assistant (RA) for a 2‑year funded Startup Grant project. The research focuses on the preparation, characterization, and predictive modelling of fiber composite reinforcing bars for concrete structures. The RA will conduct experiments on physical, thermal, and mechanical properties, support the development of service life prediction models (Arrhenius Model), and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and dissemination activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in laboratory testing and equipment (material and structural based) such as universal testing machines. Experience with thermal and material composition equipment (DSC, TGA, FTIR) is preferred.
