Research Associate in the Department of Neurosurgery specializing in Neuroengineering and Translational Nerve Repair

The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of peripheral nerve injury, spinal cord injury, and regenerative technologies, with emphasis on clinically relevant outcome measures in both small and large animal models. Candidates should have experience in neural tissue biofabrication, including biomaterial characterization, in vitro modeling, therapeutic screening, and in vivo implantation. Additional expertise in nerve fusion and the delivery and evaluation of neuroprotective drugs is expected.
