Summary of Duties

Responsible for rendering professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. This care is an integral part of the individualized holistic patient care plan as directed by the medical staff according to the hospital’s policies and procedures and the generally accepted principles of nursing services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Understand and carry out nursing care in line with the vision, mission, goals and objectives that suit the scope of the nursing services.
2. Work shift duties as assigned by the unit manager according to the unit’s operational hours.
3. Inform the unit manager when changes occur in circumstances that affect standards of care.
4. Receive and hand over patient reports, knowing the case in detail, including progress; ensure all doctors’ orders are carried out before shift change and on taking over the case; report any incident or problem encountered.
