SPECIALIST NURSE, LABOUR & DELIVERY

The Special Care Nursery Nurse provides specialised nursing care to newborn infants requiring close monitoring, medical support or short‑term treatment due to prematurity, illness or birth complications. The role focuses on delivering safe, evidence‑based and family‑centred care while supporting parents during a critical period.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to nursing care vision, mission, goals and objectives; align with scope of nursing services; perform shift duties as assigned by Unit Manager to ensure high quality care.
• Notify Unit Manager of any changes in patient status that could impact care standards; obtain and hand over a detailed report of patient progress.
• Visit patients with team members to assess conditions; revisit nursing care and determine nursing priorities based on patient needs and staff availability.
