STATE REGISTERED NURSE, OPERATION THEATRE

Job Description

Provide professional and safe nursing care to patients in the Operation Theatre in accordance with hospital policies and standards. Prepare and ensure readiness of the operating theatre, including equipment, instruments, and necessary supplies prior to procedures. Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures, ensuring proper handling of instruments and maintaining sterile techniques at all times. Monitor patients’ condition before, during, and after procedures, and promptly report any abnormalities. Ensure accurate documentation, proper labelling of specimens, and compliance with patient safety and infection control protocols. Coordinate with ward staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient OT operations. Maintain cleanliness, proper handling, and functionality of equipment, and report any faults accordingly. Participate in continuous improvement activities, audits, and training programmes as required.
