Substation Engineer

Job Description
Day to day, this role is focused on supporting the design and engineering of utility scale substations across a mix of small to large projects. This position is 3 days onsite in Spring Valley, NY and 2 days fully remote. The engineer will develop and review substation layouts, electrical drawings, and equipment specifications, while preparing technical calculations, estimates, and engineering documents required for feasibility studies and project execution. They will review, analyze, and prepare reports to evaluate design alternatives and determine best practices related to substation arrangement, grounding, protection, battery sizing, lighting, and insulation coordination. The role also involves providing engineering support during construction by responding to questions, performing field walkdowns as needed, and supporting projects before, during, and after construction.
