General Summary:

Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.

+ Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination. Obtains additional information about the patient’s medical history as necessary.

+ Reviews clinical data on requisition, analyzes anatomical structure of patient, sets up equipment and, following protocols, and performs the procedure.

+ May assist Radiologist in performing diagnostic invasive procedures. Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for the procedure. Ensures the a...
