Year 6 Cover supervisor

Job Purpose

To supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that pupils remain engaged in pre-set work and that a positive learning environment is maintained. The role does not involve planning lessons but requires effective classroom management and the ability to support pupils’ learning across the primary age range (4–11).

Key Responsibilities

Oversee classes during teacher absence, ensuring that pupils follow the work set and remain focused on their learning. Maintain high standards of behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy, creating a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
