LEAD MEDICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Summary This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Mental Health Division. Responsibilities The Lead Medical Support Assistant monitors and makes work assignments; being sure their medical/program area is covered for medical support activities such as clerical duties for Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP), or other specialty care setting where the patient aligned care team model is used such as Substance Abuse, PTSD, Suicide Prevention, RRTP, Acute MH, etc.) Resolves daily workplace issues; distributing and balancing workload; assuring coverage of all areas of responsibility. Ensuring accurate and timely scheduling of appointments; providing guidance to staff members to include changes in policies and procedures.
