Responsibilities Serves as a Lead Transportation Assistant in DLA Distribution, performing freight shipment and transportation support functions through various transportation systems. Leads a team of three (3) or more employees in performing transportation duties ensuring that the work assignments of the team members are carried out. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timely movement of material to CONUS and/or OCONUS customers. Secures carriers to arrange for pickup, delivery, and storage of shipments. Identifies the mode or combination of modes, types of special equipment, and services required for shipments. Advises customers of inadequacies or inaccuracies in shipping requests and related documentation.
