Purpose

Responsible for teaching and learning, research and community engagement and to provide support to the department/school in pursuit of its academic objectives. Responsibilities may also include curriculum development, student academic development, administration and quality assurance to contribute to the academic initiatives undertaken by the department/faculty.

Minimum Requirement for Lecturer P8

• A master’s degree in economics/Econometrics.
• Must be able to register for a Doctorate within one year.
• At least two years of university teaching experience.
• Demonstrated evidence in the form of publications in DHET accredited journals, etc., and or peer‑reviewed conference proceedings that contain substantially complete papers that have the potential to be submitted for publication.
• Evidence of Honours degree supervision.
