About Human Rights First and PALA

Human Rights First is a leading advocacy organisation dedicated to protecting the rights and dignity of vulnerable populations around the world. In response to the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, we launched Project: Afghan Legal Assistance (PALA) —a nationwide initiative bringing together legal organisations, law firms, resettlement agencies, and other partners to assist Afghan refugees. PALA helps newly arrived Afghans and their immigration attorneys navigate complex U.S. immigration processes, providing critical legal support to secure safety and stability in the United States. This program plays a vital role in ensuring displaced Afghans can rebuild their lives while maintaining family unity.
