Licensed Practical Nurse

Summary The LPN is aligned under Ambulatory Care Services and will be assigned to various Primary Acute Care Teams (PACT) and/or Sub-Specialty Clinics. This is a float position with the official duty station designated as the Ann Arbor VAMC. Responsibilities The Licensed Practical Nurse, GS-6, is a direct caregiver who has the knowledge and skills necessary for concentrated effort and self-direction in carrying out the most complex nursing care assignments and who completes duties and responsibilities which involve performing nonstandard and specialized practical nursing activities requiring demonstrated skill sufficient to resolve a range of nursing problems. Work is reviewed daily by the RN; however, the LPN works independently at this level and requires little supervision by the RN.
