Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) applies the nursing process to support clients, residents or patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people‑centered care approach across Acute, Transitional, Personal Care Home (PCH), Primary Care, Oncology/Cancer Care, Public Health‑Healthy Living and/or Home Care settings. The LPN works within the full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education and maintains competency in accordance with Southern Health‑Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba, the Code of Ethics, the Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba and the Regulated Health Professions Act. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods, and actions on unusual matters, and performs the role consistently with the mission, vision, values and policies of Southern Health‑Santé Sud.
