Locum Consultant in Oculoplastic Ophthalmology

Job Summary

We are inviting applications for a full time, Locum Consultant in Oculoplastic Ophthalmology based at Ipswich Hospital. This is a fixed term post ending 31st October 2026 to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities

• Take his/her share of the consultant clinical responsibilities within the department, including managing junior doctors within the Acute Referral department and develop the oculoplastic service.
• The precise allocation of session time will be agreed with consultant colleagues, but there will be 8.5 clinical sessions of direct clinical care and 1.5 SPA for professional development and appraisal (10 PA total).
• Provide cover for colleagues during leave and other authorised absences.
• The applicant will be expected to join the on call consultant rota and be paid a supplement for this.
