Job Summary

Under close supervision of an RN, or Care Provider provides direct patient care in accordance with established protocols. Assists RNs and Care Providers with procedures, medication administration, phlebotomy, and limited laboratory procedures. Assesses patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Documents patient's medical status throughout the patient's course of treatment. The Correctional Care nursing staff provides clinical care at either Downtown Detention Center or the Denver County Jail. These environments of care have a higher level of clinical acuity and environmental hazard than inpatient and ambulatory nursing settings based on the nature of the facility.
