Mainline Locomotive Driver

Job Description 

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities: 

• Operate locomotives and manage train movements in accordance with network rules and SCT procedures and work instructions.
• Ensuring safe & efficient shunting activities
• Conduct pre-departure and en-route inspections to ensure train integrity
• Monitor and respond to operational conditions, signalling systems and communication protocols
• Complete required documentation and reporting accurately and on time
• Work collaboratively with network control, maintenance, and yard operations teams
• Uphold all safety, fatigue management, and environmental requirement
• Commitment to safety in the workplace
• Ensure compliance with all of SCT’s OHS policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation
