Job Summary

Akari Care Limited is looking for a Maintenance Operative to support our award-winning home in Gateshead. The role requires hands‑on maintenance skills combined with a respectful, compassionate approach to caring for older residents.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the Home Manager and the maintenance team to keep the home and surrounding grounds in good condition. • Carry out internal decoration, ground maintenance, building repairs, supply provision and utilities maintenance. • Conduct regular inspections of the premises, addressing any maintenance requirements promptly and ensuring compliance with safety standards. • Provide guidance and training to colleagues on maintaining high standards and sustaining a safe environment for residents.

Requirements

• Experience of working within a similar environment.
• Solid maintenance experience including building, DIY, cleaning and housekeeping.
