Maintenance Mechanic

Summary This position is responsible for general maintenance and repair requirements as established by the Maintenance Supervisor, Supervisory Faciliy Operations Specialist, or Chief, Facilities Management Service, for the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This position works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance and Repair Supervisor. Responsibilities Major duties of this position include but are not limited to: Electrical: Identify electrical problems and define the repairs/upgrades required to ensure safe working and living environments throughout the facility. Carpentry: Operate and use a wide variety of specialty woodworking machines and tools. Operate and use a variety of tools by setting-up, adjusting, and maintaining tools to meet required specifications. Plumbing: Repairs plumbing systems.
