Marine Engineering Professional Trainer (Maritime Simulation) (FSHC/100126/29)

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist Associate Head of Maritime Simulator and the Director of Maritime Training as required to fulfil the Academy’s strategic priorities.
2. Teach a range of engineering courses within a marine simulation environment relating to STCW III/I V, and VI requirements as well bespoke courses.
3. Use appropriate, innovative and effective pedagogic approach in the teaching environment. Deliver lectures and lead seminar groups as appropriate.
4. Participate in the examination/ assessment process including the setting of papers, preparing marking schemes, agreeing marks with other staff. Use appropriate and innovative forms of assessment practices to enhance learning and teaching.
5. Actively develop and deliver a range of new courses in line with industry changes or industry requirements. Responsible for updating own discipline knowledge to develop research informed teaching.
