Job Description
The Die Polisher is responsible for precisely polishing and resurfacing die bores and cavities used to extrude or draw metal materials into hoses, bars, tubes, rods, wires, and structural shapes. This role focuses on restoring dies to specified sizes and angles, ensuring smooth finishes, and supporting consistent, high-quality production.
Responsibilities
- Polish and resurface bores and cavities of dies to specified sizes and angles using hand laps, die polishing machines, tools, and cutting pastes.
- Inspect worn dies to determine the extent of wear using steel gauge pins, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Examine dies for cracks, defects, and smoothness of finish, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Resurface and clean dies using powered drills, grinders, files, and other hand tools as needed.
