- Responsible for design related problem solving activities, risk assessments, and plant related issues.
- Work on improvement projects as an extended resource to the VSO (Value Stream Organization) such as scrap reduction, downtime, FOR (fall‑out‑rate), IDC (internal defect cost) and improvements on line utilization.
- Support and assist on plant/supplier related issues such as tooling replacement (evaluation of local sources for mechanical components) and supplier delivery issues.
- Assess and provide guidance from development perspective to commodity related issues such as plastics, die‑cast, stamping, etc.
- Technical responsibility for cost reduction initiatives such as component localization in North America and RPP (Ratio Project Planning).
- Assess technical impact of product deviation from the mechanical side.
