Mechanical technician

Requirement: National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical Fitter/Turner or related mechanical discipline) 8-10 years' post apprenticeship or millwright experience in a similar environment. First principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment. Relevant industry health and safety standards, regulations, and environmental and regulatory requirements. Maintenance and operational practices, processes and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment. The relevant engineering theories and principles relative to electro-mechanical machinery such as compressors, valves, fans, pumps, gearboxes, drives, couplings and belt drives, conveyors, and dampers. Sound knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems. Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills. Leadership and people management capabilities are essential
