Join a specialized, high-impact team at UPMC Presbyterian's Virology Laboratory! We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist who is passionate about molecular diagnostics and advancing patient care. As the only clinical molecular virology lab within the UPMC system, our team plays a critical role in supporting numerous UPMC sites with cutting-edge testing and expertise.
This position offers a consistent daylight schedule (5:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.), along with rotating weekends and holidays, providing both structure and variety in your work routine.
Responsibilities:
+ Follow established procedures for the collection (including phlebotomy, as required) and processing of specimens for analysis including the appropriateness and stability of the sample. Perform qualitative and quantitative analytical procedures according to established protocols with precision and accuracy in a timely and efficient manner.
