Consultant Psychiatrist – Public Hospital Setting

Location: Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand

Employment Type: Permanent (1 January 2027 – 31 December 2027)

Salary: $200,000 – $350,000 per annum

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established mental health service in Hawke’s Bay. You will work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across inpatient and/or community settings.

Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, developing and overseeing treatment plans, and providing clinical leadership within the service. You will collaborate closely with junior doctors, nursing staff, and allied health professionals while contributing to teaching, supervision, and ongoing service improvement.
